WHAT IS A VEIN SPECIALIST?
A vein specialist or phlebologist is a doctor who has added credentials in the evaluation and treatment of varicose veins, spider veins, and leg swelling (lymphedema). Traditionally, the treatment of vein disease was performed by general surgeons. Over the past 50 years, dermatologists, vascular surgeons, and specialists from other disciplines have entered the field.
At DOC Vein Management, our vein specialists are experienced MDs and DOs that routinely perform outpatient surgeries and procedures with assistance from ultrasound technicians, sonographers, and medical assistants.
