Venous Insufficiency Ultrasound

Venous Insufficiency Ultrasound- This test will be ordered by a physician if you present with the signs and symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). It uses soundwaves and Doppler technology to analyze the blood flow through your venous system. Patients will want to wear comfortable clothing to their appointment and be ready to spend 30 minutes to an hour to ensure that a comprehensive study was conducted. This test will be done by a registered vascular technologist (RVT) who is an expert in the anatomy and physiology of the venous system. Results will be interpreted by a physician, and depending on the results, a care plan will be put in place. This may include prescription-strength compression stockings which will be available the day of testing.
