Type and Size of Veins: Veins vary in size and type. Spider veins (small, surface veins) usually respond well to sclerotherapy. However, larger varicose veins may require RFA for effective closure.
Ultrasound Evaluation: We may use ultrasound to assess the veins’ depth, size, and condition. This helps determine which procedure is best.
Symptoms: Patient symptoms like pain, swelling, or skin changes will also be considered.
Medical History: The patient’s medical history, including any previous treatments for vein issues, helps the specialist tailor the treatment plan. Conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or other medical considerations may influence the choice between which procedure is best.
